Roundup is one of the most popular weed killers in the world. While it is certainly effective, what many people don’t know is that the active ingredient in this product, glyphosate, has been linked to a wide range of very serious health issues. Biotech giant Monsanto first introduced Roundup in 1974, and it has been used widely ever since. Over time, glyphosate has worked its way into our food system — and has been linked to a number of serious health issues.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), glyphosate is “probably carcinogenic to humans.”  In fact, various studies have shown that the active ingredient in Roundup may cause:

High levels of glyphosate haven’t just been found on fruits and vegetables, but in processed foods as well.  This means that even if you do not personally use Roundup, you can still be impacted by individuals, farmers, corporations and the government using glyphosate.

Monsanto is the same company that manufactured Agent Orange and claimed that employees who worked with it couldn’t prove that it was harmful.  It has claimed that Roundup is environmentally friendly and biodegradable — an advertisement that a French court deemed false.

Monsanto is making billions of dollars selling glyphosate, while we are suffering the adverse health effects of exposure to this dangerous product.  The government has not acted to protect us.
